ePlan Validation Report
The ePlan Validation Report provides a number of pre-examination checks on the uploaded ePlan to ensure the ePlan is meeting lodgment requirements, well-formed and consistent with departmental records.
Using the Validation Report
There are a number of headings and sections on the screen and these can include the following:
Validation report headings:
- Organisation - The applicant organisation (specified in SPEAR application)
- SPEAR Reference Number - The application's SPEAR reference number
- ePlan plan number - Plan number retrieved from ePlan (same as SPEAR plan number)
- ePlan version - ePlan version number (surveyor's reference) from ePlan
- Validation Status - The overall validation status (Pass, Pass with Warning or Fail)
- Validated on - Date-time the validation report is generated
- Validator - Validator service version.
Validation rule result summary:
The validation rule result summary is displayed to the right of report headings, and may contain the following result types:
- Error - you should attempt to fix all errors or consult appropriate Land Services Victoria personnel to discuss any exemptions.
- Input Required - you should provide a comment for each "Input Required" status, by providing clarification or justification.
- For Information - you should review and confirm each "For Information" status; these will be formally examined by Land Services Victoria.
- Pass - validation condition is satisfied, no action required.
- Not Applicable - skipped for non-applicable rules or if error conditions exist in dependent rules.
Validation rule results table:
There are a number of columns in the validation rule results and these can include the following:
- Rule Name
- Result
- Rule Message
- Surveyor Comments
- Valid Exemption
View Mode
The view mode provides a read-only and sortable display of the validation rules report. This mode is accessible by clicking the ePlan Validation Report link in Details Tab and then clicking the Open Current ePlan Validation Report link.
- Sort by rule name
To sort rules by name, click the 'Rule Name' heading in the validation rule results table.
- Sort by rule result
To sort rules by result, click the 'Result' heading in the validation rule results table.
Modification Mode
The modification mode provides an editable version of the validation rules report. The validation rule results table is not sortable in modification mode. This mode is accessible by selecting the "Modify" option next to ePlan Validation Report document from the Details Tab.
- To add comments
1. Type in surveyor's comments text in area next to the appropriate validation rule.
2. Click the 'save & close' button.
- To propose valid exemptions
1. Tick the 'valid exemption' check box next to the appropriate validation rule.
2. Click the 'save & close' button.
Note: You should have consulted with appropriate Land Services Victoria personnel before ticking the 'valid exemption' check box.
To view technical details
To view the technical details for each rule, click on the Show Technical Detail link and the details will be expanded below each rule message (click again to hide the view).
Note: Technical details are only recommended for support use, the messages require a good understanding of LandXML.
To print/download the validation report
- Click on the printable version and download link.
- Save the printable version of validation report.
- To print, open the downloaded PDF and print from PDF Reader.
